Recebi por email neste final de semana um link para um site simpático, apoiado pela Sociedade de Neurociência dos Estados Unidos, o BrainFacts.org

Achei o site super simpático e resolvi compartilhar com vocês! A proposta é bem nítida na aba do navegador: explorar o cérebro e a mente.

Nesta página você pode conhecer um pouco sobre neurociência, estudar neuroanatomia e toda a parte básica, ler sobre os sentidos e percepções, conhecer algumas das patologias neurológicas e até saber mais sobre  estilo de vida.

A parte que mais achei bacana foi conhecer um prêmio que a Society of Neuroscience entrega todo o ano: Brain Awareness Video Contest.

Trata-se de um prêmio ao melhor vídeo educacional sobre o cérebro. Os vídeos devem ser curtinhos.

Achei muito engraçado o vídeo que ganhou em 2011 sobre os pares cranianos! Um aluno de graduação, Scarth Locke, fez uma música para se lembrar de todos os nervos. O resultado é um vídeo-clipe divertido!

Now you may shrug your shoulders, say “I should have stayed in bed,” but without the spinal accessory nerve you couldn’t even shake your head.

Now the hypoglossal gives form to the words of the song, gives power and lift and life to the muscles of the tongue.
